Joey Harrington’s 14th Annual Safeway Foundation Battle at Bandon is a nationally televised competitive charity golf tournament involving current and former players from their respective Big Ten Conference universities, who compete over the course of three days at world-renowned Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. Twelve Big Ten Conference schools are represented by a team made up of two celebrity athletes and two amateurs/sponsors: 48 players in total.
The university teams are divided into two competitive groups made up of one athlete and one amateur/sponsor. These groups compete separately against two-player groups from the other universities in a total of four, 9-hole matches over the course of the weekend.
The tournament also includes two other golfing events that contribute to their team’s total score: Tillamook Team Challenge (putting event) and CLIF Bar Horse Race. At the end of the tournament, each university will have accumulated a win/loss record from the eight total matches played and team events. This determines which four-person team will be crowned the Big Ten Conference Battle at Bandon champion.
Harrington Family Foundation hosted the 14th Annual Safeway Foundation Battle at Bandon on June 26-28, 2026. The broadcast will be televised on the Big Ten Network from August 19, 2026 to August 29, 2026 at various time. Check the Big Ten Network for air dates and time. Proceeds from the charity golf tournament benefit Harrington Family Foundation’s Oregon Community Leadership Scholarship-Mentorship program, which currently supports 20 student leaders at $25,000 per student in perpetuity.
