As a small organization we know firsthand the impact of dollars spent in our local community.
In 2014 we launched the Umpqua Bank Chef Off, one of our pivotal fundraising events that relies on the generosity of local restaurants and chefs. Their continued involvement has generated incredible success for our scholarship-mentorship program; we could not do this event without their creative partnership. These small businesses are the backbone of our communities and desperately need our help.
That’s why on this #GivingTuesday we would like to make the greatest impact as we kickstart the holiday giving season with our matching event! Let’s celebrate Oregon based restaurants/eateries and help keep their doors open. Our matching event ends December 31, 2020!
Here’s the scoop:
- Choose a local eatery in your Oregon community to patron. Order take-out. Purchase online merchandise or gift cards. In being mindful to your local community, we encourage you to select BIPOC and women-owned establishments (historically denied access to capital).
- Send a copy or screenshot of your receipt to support@harringtonfamilyfoundation.org
- We had an original matching goal of $5,000 and Oregonians showed up big time and blew right past that goal in ONE WEEK. We are doubling our matching fund to $10,000 total for the duration of our matching event (ends December 31, 2020). Donations will be disbursed directly to the small business.
