Joey Harrington’s 2nd Annual Cook-off Fundraiser for Oregon Students Set for August 1

The Great Summer Chef Off will feature some of the region’s top chefs competing in a BBQ cook-off; event benefits charities that support children and their right to high-quality education

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Harrington Family Foundation will hold The 2nd Annual Great Summer Chef Off on August 1, starting at 6 p.m. at Bladberry Farm on Sauvie Island. The Chef Off will bring together select Portland chefs for a BBQ cook-off event to support the Foundation and its mission to better the lives of children in Oregon by giving them access to high-quality education.

All proceeds benefit the Oregon Community Quarterback Scholarship program, which each year awards four, four-year $2,500 scholarships to emerging Oregon high school student leaders facing financial hurdles. The scholarships provide them the opportunity to attend an Oregon university, college or trade school.

Established in 2003 by former NFL quarterback, Joey Harrington, the Harrington Family Foundation (HFF) has raised more than $1 million for students across Oregon. Born and raised in Oregon, Joey believes investing in Oregon students dedicated to pursuing higher education ultimately invests in the state of Oregon. The Oregon Community Quarterback Scholarship program is designed to encourage students who have shown a take-charge ability in their communities, but may need help reaching their potential.
