It’s been a year since TedxPortland’s spring program, Wonderland, and we’re looking back on Joey’s powerful TedxTalk, which remains a compelling reminder about the dangers of perceived perfection (especially in the case of social media) and the constructive impact of failure.
Joey had the honor and privilege to participate in TedxPortland‘s 2016 program, joining a group of Oregon influencers, creators, business minds, entertainers and visionaries who shared their perspectives and contribution to a state that has given them so much.
These 10 minutes are likely Joey’s most candid and vulnerable when it comes to publicly addressing his life and NFL career. It is a central message he carries with him, and hopes to impart into the next generation of leaders in the state of Oregon.

The Oregon Community Leadership Scholarship is a renewable four-year collegiate scholarship program for Oregon high school seniors who are emerging leaders, and plan to attend an Oregon university or trade school. 
The 2019 Safeway Foundation Battle at Bandon returns June 21-23 at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. A competitive, handicapped golf tournament involving current and former players and coaches from their respective PAC-12 universities.
